Free Chrome extension · Beta

Your tabs and windows,
in one place.

TabSidecar keeps every tab in one searchable list, lets you save and name your windows, brings them back after a restart, and quietly closes the tabs you're done with. Nothing gets lost.

Session Recovery

Windows that survive a restart.

If Chrome closes for any reason, a crash, a force-quit, or a normal restart, your windows reopen the way you left them.

  • Restarts are detected automatically
  • Each window is matched to its saved state
  • Works even when Chrome's own restore doesn't
Running

Chrome quits, then every window is restored

Auto-Park

Close the clutter. Keep every tab.

When a tab sits untouched past a timer you set, TabSidecar closes it and adds it to a list you can search and reopen.

  • You choose the timer, from an hour to a few weeks
  • Parked tabs are searchable and reopen in one click
  • Pinned tabs are left alone
Parked 0 tabs · one click to reopen

Idle tabs close and drop into the parked list

Window Management

Take control of every window.

See all your open windows in one place, then title, lock, anchor, or save any one of them.

  • Give any window a title you'll recognize
  • Lock a window so its tabs are never auto-parked
  • Save a window and reopen the whole set later

More window controls are coming with Pro.

Smart Organizer

Tabs that sort themselves.

Set rules for where tabs belong and they move there as soon as they open: work in one window, shopping in another.

  • Match on the URL or page title, no regex to write
  • Auto-move or auto-close anything that matches
  • Built-in rules for common AI tools

Questions

Common questions.

Is it really free?
Yes. It's free while in beta. We're working on a paid Pro plan with AI features, but everything available now will stay free.
Do parked tabs get deleted?
No. Parking a tab closes it but saves it to a searchable list. One click brings it back, and pinned tabs are never parked.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-up. TabSidecar runs locally in your browser.
Will it close tabs I'm actively using?
Only tabs you haven't touched since the timer you set. Pinned tabs are never closed.
Does it survive a Chrome crash?
Yes. That's Session Recovery: window layouts are saved in the background and restored when Chrome reopens.
Can I back up my data?
Yes. Export your tabs, labels, filters, and settings to JSON or CSV, and import them back later.
